My Approach
Confidential
For me, being ethical in my work transcends mere moral obligation. It involves a profound respect for the person I am working with and the commitment to fostering a safe and trusting therapeutic environment. Therefore, safeguarding the confidentiality of the information shared during therapy and protecting my clients' identity is essential. Any information can only be revealed with your explicit consent, except in the case of self harm or harm to others.
Client-centered
You are at the heart of the process. Therapy isn’t about forcing your experiences and viewpoints into a predetermined framework. Instead, it focuses on understanding your unique experiences, emotions, struggles, and challenges, then finding the tools and frameworks that can assist you in making the changes you desire and becoming the person you wish to be.
Collaborative
I believe that achieving lasting and meaningful change can only happen in a collaborative environment where we work together to co-create understanding, address challenges, and formulate solutions grounded in your unique experiences and perspectives. This approach promotes empowerment, respect, and active involvement.
Integrative
As an integrative therapist, I draw from various therapeutic models I have studied, such as hypnotherapy, CBT, CBD, EMDR, trauma-informed therapy, various models of couple and family therapy, existential therapy, well-being therapy, and others. I focus on techniques that are tailored to your individual needs. As a therapist, I strive to be adaptable and knowledgeable about which methods and models can effectively address your behavioral, cognitive, and emotional aspects to support your personal growth and well-being.
Holistic
A holistic approach involves looking beyond just one issue or symptom. It's essential to consider all aspects of your life, including environmental influences—both past and present—along with your thoughts, emotions, behaviors, physical health, and relationships. Research shows emotional, physical, social, and spiritual factors all play a significant role in fostering balance, resilience, and long-term well-being.
Pragmatic
Therapy is practical, realistic and goal-oriented.The goal of therapy is to facilitate meaningful and lasting changes in your life. Its focus extends beyond simply understanding your experiences; it’s also about equipping you with effective coping skills, adaptive thinking, and emotional resilience. This way, you can enhance your well-being and more effectively manage the challenges you face.
Evidence-based
Evidence-based tools and techniques are designed to be safe, effective, and adaptable to your specific needs. There is data supporting their effectiveness, both why and how they work. While therapy can lead to transformations that feel magical, it is important to remember that therapy is not magic; it is grounded in research and proven methods.
Culturally-informed
Therapy that embraces a culturally-informed perspective means that I prioritize integrating your cultural background, values, and beliefs into our sessions. By fostering cultural awareness, sensitivity, and humility, I aim to ensure that our therapeutic process is respectful and relevant to your unique identity and experiences, which has been demonstrated to enhance the effectiveness of therapy.
